Brand new TPMS (tire pressure monitoring) sensors fitted at the valve stem — required to keep the dashboard warning light off on most 2008+ vehicles.
Most vehicles built after 2008 use a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): a battery-powered sensor inside each wheel that talks to your dashboard. When you buy a second set of rims (for example for winter tires), each rim needs its own sensor — otherwise the warning light will stay on all season. We fit brand new TPMS sensors, seat them properly at the valve and program them so the system reads correctly.
TPMS sensors are not serviceable parts — each has a sealed battery that lasts somewhere between five and ten years and then simply stops. That is why a warning light can appear on a car whose tires are all at the right pressure: the sensor has reached the end of its life, not the tire.
Whenever a tire comes off a rim, the sensor deserves a fresh service kit — the seal, the nut, the valve core and the cap. Reusing an aged rubber seal on a sensor is the same false economy as reusing an old valve stem, and it produces the same slow leak.
Aftermarket programmable sensors work perfectly well and cost noticeably less than dealer parts. They have to be written with the correct vehicle protocol, which is what the programming step does.

Questions we get asked
Does a second set of rims need its own sensors?
Yes, unless you plan to have sensors moved across at every changeover. Without sensors in the second set the dashboard warning light stays on for the whole season.
My tire pressures are fine but the light is on. Why?
Most often a sensor battery has reached the end of its life — they are sealed and typically last five to ten years. The sensor needs replacing, not the tire.
Are aftermarket sensors as good as dealer ones?
For the vast majority of vehicles, yes, and they cost noticeably less. They need programming with the correct protocol for your car, which we do as part of fitting.
